7th April 2024: Aerotech 1/32 DH 88 Comet
Right, back to real world aviation after that brief visit to a galaxy far, far away. And this is a serious lump of resin from Marsh Models, designed to recreate the famous DH88 air racer originally built for the 1934 England - Australia air race. The resin looks well moulded but the proof will be in the building, these things are never quite as straightforward as one hopes. So let's get racing!

Bandai 1/48 Incom Corporation T-65 X-Wing Fighter
Yes, I've finally succumbed to the dark side, and here is Bandai's rather excellent X-Wing in it's "movable" version. It's brought back some wonderful childhood memories of the cinematic event of the 1970s but more importantly this is a seriously good kit from Bandai, engineered to perfection. But the pre-coloured plastic just had to be painted over and it was also a great opportunity to go to town on the weathering!

Revell 1/48 B-24D (built as a Liberator II)
When I was asked if I could build a 1/48 RAF Liberator II my initial reaction was "no" because no such kit exists. However a little research revealed that if you start with a B-24D it is just about doable with a little courage with the scalpels, saws and putty.

The Revell 1/48 B-24D is a 1970s mould but still good and with a little care and attention still holds its own. Even after having been butchered into an RAF variant!
